Create node route based on Activity or gpx track
A gpx track or Activity contains only a gpx trace. Nodes, however, are not included in a gpx track or Activity. This is because a gpx track can be plotted anywhere on the map, and is not restricted to the node network.
With a bit of effort, though, you can create a node route based on the Activity. You need two screens for this, e.g. your laptop/pc screen and a phone. Or use two browser windows side by side.
Open the appropriate Activity on a laptop/pc screen. Click the Network button at the bottom left of the map. The node network is now shown in relation to the gpx route. By zooming in, you can see where it matches or differs from the node network.
Open the planning screen on another screen. Now recreate the route using the example. Where the gpx route deviates from the node network, you have two options:
- change the route by choosing a node that does not correspond to the original route . In the example, you can choose node 76.
- or place a Plus point to continue along the original track.
Save the route. The Activity is now recreated as a node route and is saved to Routes.
